Japanese Art Display: There were some Japanese art students who visited the University here and displayed their art works at our library. I was able and fortunate enough to a have the chance to visit the display and was very impressed by the quality of their works. I really enjoyed the work from the artist Utugi Tae titled, "Dream Melting Point O C" on luster paper. It has a teenage girl laying on what appears to be some sort of white fabric placed in a way to look like snow. She is laying on her back at an angle from the mid point of her body looking up at the sky and wearing all white clothes with a little bit of accent of black on her belt of beads "I think" she also has on white makeup with red highlights around her eyes and lips to accent her face. Around her is a Furby, a Polaroid camera, Christmas stencil, some fake flowers, and a single rose at the inside of her left thigh. Is has a sense of being alone, or at peace with one's self. another artist that came over is Takeda Hiroki who uses watercolor and color pen to create some very unique head shots of people from Japan and they could be art students but I'm not sure. The works, however, are very unique and nicely done and each one has a clover on the face of the peoples in the works. The faces are showing slightly different expressions, however, they all seem to have happiness in common. Very nice.
